We write first in blood and tears, then go over in ink.

Picture1It was a great honour and pleasant surprise to have Robot in the Playground featured at the Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC 2015) Duelling Illustrators.blog

For the first time, I heard Robot ENDO being read out in another voice, and by A.J. Betts no less! She is the award-winning author of Zac & Mia!

The duelling illustrators were Dave Liew, (Squirky the Alien! Ellie Belly!) and Mas Shafreen (find him on wantondoodle.com!).  I wished that Robot’s original artist, Avina Tan, had been there with us!

  1. […] Brief Review (in under 50 words): This is a good book to engage children in conversations about friendship, relocation and career choices. However, on a less serious note – it is good simply for a fun read. The artwork is rich and colourful. Read about how 2 illustrators ‘fought over’ the book! https://paulineltl.wordpress.com/2015/06/07/they-fought-over-robot-in-my-playground/ […]

Say hullo before you go :)
